The WVSSAR Color Guard brings the Revolutionary era into public view through disciplined, historically respectful appearances at commemorations, ceremonies, schools, parades, grave markings, and civic events.
Color Guardsmen represent the Society and the patriot ancestors it honors. Appearances are planned to support the ceremony, respect the setting, and help audiences understand the people and service behind the uniforms.
Organizations may request a Color Guard appearance for an appropriate public event. Provide the date, location, schedule, ceremony purpose, expected audience, and on-site contact as early as possible.
WVSSAR members interested in participating can learn uniform standards, safety practices, drill, protocol, and historical interpretation through experienced Color Guard leadership.
